Thomas J. and
Janet T. Smith are the owners of the
Thompson-Smith Funeral Home. Tom is a Conneaut native,
graduating from Conneaut High School in 1965. He attended
Bowling Green State University, and served in the United
States Marine Corps for four years, including one year
in Vietnam. He then attended the Pittsburgh Institute
of Mortuary Science, graduating with honors in 1973.
He served his apprenticeship with the Thompson Funeral
Home as both a funeral director and embalmer. He passed
the Ohio State Boards in 1974, and has been the owner/director
since 1991.

Stephanie M. Hall-Nesbitt
Stephanie a native of Conneaut, graduated from Conneaut
High School in 1999. She received her Associate Degree
from the University of Cincinnati in 2001, and her
Bachelor’s Degree from Cincinnati College of
Mortuary Science in 2003. She is a licensed Funeral
Director and Embalmer in the State of Ohio.

Janet is also a Conneaut
native. She is a 1967 graduate of Conneaut High School,
and graduated magna cum laude from Kent State University
with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 1971.
She has completed graduate work at Youngstown State
University, and recently retired from the Conneaut
Area City Schools. Janet is the administrative assistant
at the funeral home.

Eric A. Nesbitt
Eric graduated from Springfield High School in Akron,
Ohio in 1997. He attended Walsh University and graduated
with his Bachelor’s Degree in 2000 at Cincinnati
College of Mortuary Science. He is a licensed Funeral
Director and Embalmer in the State of Ohio. Stephanie
and Eric joined the firm as funeral directors in January
of 2005
